Property development student experiences life at The Benyon Estate
We have been pleased to host Oliver Gardiner, a planning and property development student from Oxford Brookes University, for a week’s work experience.
Working closely with our residential, commercial and maintenance teams, Ollie gained first-hand experience in property management and discovered what it takes to manage and be part of a bustling community in London.
Ollie explained: “I have always been interested in property and development; I think it is the idea of creating something that benefits the area and the community. I am a strong believer in sustainability and hopefully, I shall be part of sustainable developments in my future career.”
After completing a foundation year in built environment, Ollie finished the second year of his planning and property development course this spring.
He added: “I’m not sure what area of property management I would like to go into, so this experience helped by giving me an insight into the day-to-day running and management of properties.
“I think the Benyon Estate is brilliant and the relationship between its tenants and team is incredible.
One thing that amazes me is that all of the property team know every single property off the top of their heads, which shows how dedicated they are at providing a good service.
“I could see that everyone who works for the Benyon Estate is highly valued and it was great to be part of a small, efficient team.”
Josh Summers from the Benyon Estate said: “Ollie approached every task with enthusiasm and you could see that he really came to understand what’s involved in making De Beauvoir Town one of the best areas to live and work in London.”
We will be welcoming more students for internships or work experience during 2019; follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn for details of any upcoming opportunities.
