We support residents in their own events as well as host special seasonal events in the park at De Beauvoir Square and in the De Beauvoir Block. We also get involved in wider community events such as the Hackney Half Marathon.

The Haphazard Gardener - A Gift of a Garden (Part 2)

After my father-in-law Sir William Benyon died in the Intensive Care Unit in the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading and we had had the idea to make a garden in his memory in a grim little courtyard outside the hospital cafe, it was another two years before the project was announced and two more before work started.

21st Century Refurbishment for 19th Century Home

For almost five decades, 64 Southgate Road was home to a former Regent Street dressmaker and her family. Now the property is about to welcome new tenants after a comprehensive six-month refurbishment which has given it a 21st century revamp whilst reviving its 19th century architectural heritage.

New hospital garden in Reading bears a Hackney hallmark

A new garden has officially opened at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, designed by Jennifer Benyon of the Benyon Estate and featuring a sculpture by Hackney-based Sophie Dickens, the great granddaughter of Charles Dickens.
